EDITORIAL
This page is dedicated to sharing thoughtful reflections, insights, and perspectives on the craft. All topics and write‑ups featured here are authored solely by me, with the aim of fostering more profound understanding, appreciation, and dialogue among Brethren.
Through these editorials, I hope to illuminate the timeless values of Freemasonry, explore its relevance in our modern lives, and encourage meaningful discussions that strengthen our bonds of brotherhood. Each article is crafted with care, guided by both tradition and personal conviction.
May this space serve as a resource for reflection, inspiration, and connection within our Masonic journey.
A Look at the Dialogue Between the Church and Freemasonry: Church Accusation and Masonic Responses
This document, titled "Church Accusations Against Freemasonry & Masonic Responses", provides a clear, structured breakdown of the nearly three-century-long ideological and theological friction between the Roman Catholic Church and the Freemasons.
At a glance, it covers:
-
The Core Clash: The Catholic Church's concerns regarding naturalistic philosophy, religious indifferentism, and secrecy, weighed against Freemasonry's self-definition as a non-sectarian, moral, and civic brotherhood.
-
A Comparative Matrix: Side-by-side breakdowns across five main dimensions—covering theology, truth and salvation, oaths, political history, and canonical status.
-
Historical Milestones: Key references ranging from Pope Clement XII’s 1738 papal bull (In eminenti) up through modern Vatican clarifications issued in 2023.
